INTRODUCTION TO BHARATHANATYAM:-

Introduction to Bharathanatyam Series Description: Students will begin by learning exercises that strengthen muscles and help build stamina for this athletic dance form. This will be followed by basic adavus (rhythmic footwork patterns), modified jathis (combination of adavus to create longer series of movements), and mudras (hand gestures). Through music, songs, and poems, students will also learn about significant Hindu mythological heroes such as Durga, Saraswati, Ganesha, Siva, and Vishnu.

Requirements:-
- 15 years and adults
- Must have 4 – 5 years of solid training in Bharathanatham/Kuchipudi/Odissi
- Must be athletic and willing to experiment, improvise, and push the envelope.
- Must be available to perform work-in-Progress performance at recital on December 15th at 2pm.
